Hybrid Technologies Supercar
When Hybrid Technologies reveled this car to Popular Mechanics at the end of May / beginning of June, they got a lot of press, it made a really big splash and people compared them to Tesla. Those are big shoes to fill! Not much regarding tech specs was actually revealed, but Hybrid Technologies is an interesting company and the design sure looks good. Check out the new page on Hybrid Technologies Supercar or read on for the same info via HTML.

Availability & Cost: late 2009 to mid 2010
Availability & Cost: late 2009 to mid 2010
Background and Details
- Hybrid Technologies (HT) offers conversions of many popular vehicles (Toyota Yaris, Smart ForTwo, PT Cruiser, Mini Cooper) to electric-drive, and is public: OTCBB:HYBR
- Financial data shows they are investing heavily in R&D, and they are hiring. They are also burning money.
- This "supercar" without a name was revealed to popular mechanics in May as HT's Automotive X Prize entry
- For the race, there will be a hybrid-electric version which will get "220 MPG minimum". However this stat may include only the gas burned, so the MPGe might be lower
- HT has revealed little about the tech specs, but they will likely be better than their LiV™ RUSH sports car: 0-60 in 5.9s, 120 MPH, 105 HP, 1182 lbs batteries, 2300 lbs total.
- "When we asked Cerven if Hybrid Technologies could hit ZR1-level horsepower equivalent numbers in the mid-600s, he laughed, vaguely adding that we were "way out of the ballpark--it's gonna be wild." - Popular Mechanics
