Which cars/teams next?
The Automotive X Prize lists 47 teams right now, and I have pages for only five of them - Aptera, Tesla, ZAP, Zero Pollution Motors and Loremo. My survey of the teams websites shows that there are nine more who are far enough along for me to make a page on them. Read on for the list, and feel free to comment on which teams you'd like to see a page for first.
Here is the list, with a brief description and a link to the same page as the AXP links to:
- FuelVapor Technologies Ale: 2 seat tandem, 3-wheel reverse trike, 92 MPG.
- Phoenix Motorcars: All Electric "Sport Utility Truck", likely not their actual entry for the AXP, but no other vehicle is being shown yet...
- Society of Sustainable Mobility (SSM): The Open Source Green Vehicle (OSGV) called Kernel, an SUV with modular power source
- Velozzi: 2-seat multi-fuel hybrid sportcar
- Avion: 2-seat streamlined ultralight
- RaceAbout: Finnish sports car, next generation to be electric
- Visionary Vehicles: by Malcolm Bricklin, PHEVs of various sizes
- Roane Inventions: 3-wheel reverse trike, can ride monorails via removable drive train / back wheel, fully electric
- Valentin Technologies: 5-seat, 4-wheel hydraulically driven car with an HCCI diesel accumulator power source - 110 MPG claimed
First on my list however is to remake the Aptera page in light of the new information from the Popular Mechanics article.
