Other than the EV-1, the Tesla Roadster is probably the most famous electric vehicle of all time - and they haven't even delivered one to a paying customer yet! But there sure is a lot to like, if you can put up the nearly $100k to own one.  Tesla's slogan is "changing perceptions", and their 2-seat all-electric sports car has accomplished that.   • Founded in 2003, Tesla has been partly responsible for the revival of the electric car in the public mind.
  • Their high performance, “no compromises” electric sports car has drawn rave reviews from test drivers

  • Tesla delayed initial vehicles from Q4’07 to Q1’08, because of reliability issues with the transmission system
  • Tesla is working on “Whitestar”, a 4-door sedan successor
